Ganesh, the Hindu elephant-headed deity, known as the remover of obstacles, is portrayed here in his four-armed form holding a sweetmeat (ladoo), a mala, an axe, and lotus buds. His trunk is curled to one side, exposing his broken tusk. Festooned with jewelry, he sits on a lotus throne.
